What is an Occupational Therapy Doctor?

What are  Occupational Therapists and what do they do? by D.O.C., OTD/C Elevator speech! So I'm in an elevator and someone asks me: Question: "What do you do? You're pretty big!" I love these questions because I love opportunities to promote occupational therapy (OT).  Answer: I reply that I am a personal trainer of 21 years but I am also a occupational therapy graduate. And I have been involved in the field of occupational therapy for over 7 years as an occupational therapist assistant (OTA). Question: What is an occupational therapist? Is that like job training? Answer: Nope! Think of an occupational therapist as a "functional physical therapist" . An occupational therapist works with people who have disabilities (mental or physical) live independently.  Question: How do OT's you do that? Answer: Well first we have to identify what the problem is. Then we assess you to see where the problems stem from. Once we identify that, then we create intervention
