You may have joint inflammation for a variety of reasons, including: An autoimmune disease (the body attacks itself because the immune system believes a body part is foreign) Broken bone General "wear and tear" on joints Infection (usually caused by bacteria or viruses ) Often, the inflammation goes away after the injury has healed, the disease is treated, or the infection has been

Onyx Fitness: Light Weight Lifting – Training Heavy Is Not The Only Way To A Great Body

You see guys hit the gym to hit the heavy poundage and pack on the muscle. They work hard and intense and their bodies show it with bigger muscles. What if your goal is not huge bulging muscles but a lean, fast, trim, fit body? Then light weight lifting may be an ideal program for you. Light weight lifting is not intended to pack on muscle, it is intended to be used at slightly higher speeds to gain aerobic benefits and to stimulate muscles to grow slightly. Your muscle growth can only be as great as the overload you cause on your muscles. Bigger muscles occur when the muscles must grow to adapt to the stress being placed on them by your workouts. Lighter weights with higher reps do not cause the same style of stress. The stress they cause are aerobic in nature requiring your body to become more efficient at endurance, blood flow, and recovery. These are all excellent benefits if they fit within your goals. Light weight lifting should be done using the same types

Onyx Fitness: Weight Loss Workout Routine – Increase The Speed Of Weight Loss Easily

Using the proper weight loss workout routine can make the difference between getting stuck in weight loss or having continual successful loss. Using the right combination of exercise in your workout routines is required for the best results. Too many weight loss programs focus too heavily on cutting calories, pushing supplements down our throats, or improper exercise. Cutting calories too deeply leads to a serious slow down in your metabolism which can bring your weight loss to a halt very rapidly. Even worse when you begin eating more your metabolism can take a long time to adjust and you pack on fat pounds. Use supplements only in the manner they are intended, as an aid to weight loss, not as the method to weight loss. Now that we have covered those two bases, what do you really need in your weight loss workout routine? It should cover two important areas, aerobic fat burning ex

Onyx Fitness Training: PLAN AHEAD!!!

PLAN AHEAD, ORGANIZE YOUR MEALS AND WORKOUTS. If you don’t have a plan you don’t stand a chance. If you don’t plan on a day-to-day basis, what inevitably happens is that the day takes an unexpected turn, and you blow off a meal, eat the wrong thing for convenience, or skip a workout.

Onyx Fitness: Tip for Exercising while Short on Time...

We have all used the excuse that we cannot exercise because we do not have enough time. Perhaps we work 14 hours a day. Or maybe we commute for hours at a time. Well, the good news is that you do not have to feel restricted by your schedule anymore. Exercises can be done during lots of other tasks during the day. Here are some examples of what and when you can do these exercises: If you work with computers, you can start working out while you are working on your projects. Your legs are free to work while you are seated, so you can do leg lifts with your legs in different positions, and even sit on an exercise ball while you work instead of being on a chair. If you sit with your ankles and knees close together, you will get more of a workout by using your core muscles to balance yourself. On breaks, you can do jumping jacks or jump rope to work up a sweat. Take a walk around the building or parking lot of the place where you work. Take the stairs instead of the elevato

Onyx Fitness Training: Benefits of Omega 3

1.     Freedom from pain and inflammation. Omega 3 fish oil fatty acids, particularly EPA, have a very positive effect on your inflammatory response. Through several mechanisms, they regulate your body's inflammation cycle, which prevents and relieves painful conditions like arthritis, prostatitis, cystitis and anything else ending in "itis." 2.     Better brain function and higher intelligence. Pregnant and nursing mothers can have a great impact on the intelligence and happiness of their babies by supplementing with omega 3 fish oil with DHA. For adults, fish oil improves memory, recall, reasoning and focus. You'll swear you're getting younger and smarter. 3.     Feeling better with much less depression. Making you smarter is not all that fish oil does for your brain. Psychiatry department researchers at the University of Sheffield UK, along with many other research studies, found that fish oil supplements "alleviated" the symptoms of
